Now that Venus has entered her home territory of Taurus, and is bound to be revamping your inner and outer surroundings to meet your new needs and values, I thought it would be worth looking at what she has been up to since the end of last year. Venus’ transit movement around the elliptical (and our natal chart) helps us see where and how our inner values must be open for change and progression. Venus ultimately wishes for us to see our inherent value so that we may see the value and beauty in all things. Venus’ placement in your chart shows us what we are drawn to and what we wish to open up to receive in this life, as well as what we are willing to protect. She is also the Ruler of Libra.
Venus spent some extra time away from her home in Taurus this past year due to her retrograde in Capricorn. Upon entrance to the sign in November she made a multi day sextile to Mercury who had just entered Scorpio, thus beginning our process of considering how our inherent values affect our self-discipline and the way we achieve our goals. She moved quickly through the sign in November, making the first of three trines to Uranus in Taurus, who has been busy at work in Venus’ home territory shaking up our old values since 2018. This helped us begin to open up to new innovative ways of valuing ourselves on a daily basis. This was followed by a week-long sextile to Mars in Scorpio which helped our ego open up to do some deep exploration into where the roots of our old values actually stem from. At the beginning of December Venus began her slow down after the first of 3 sextiles to Neptune before making her way towards Pluto at 26°, where she would begin her retrograde phase. Pluto, who has been in Capricorn since 2008, has been transforming our inner and outer world power structures in major ways. Venus making her retrograde while conjunct Pluto, in the later degrees of Capricorn, is still transforming how you open up to larger structures of power that hold together the big picture of your life and world. This has significant impact for the USA as the natal Pluto for the country is also having its return over the next year, marking a massive change in the overarching power structures of the country. That being said, this conjunction helped to transform the overarching power structures of your life and helped you to open up to new ways of achieving going forward. After making her rather long conjunction to Pluto she made a brief conjunction to Mercury who was passing through at the end of the month, kicking off the process of Venus’ reconsiderations around how to achieve in the future. The beginning of the year saw Venus retro in sextile with Neptune once again, followed by her cazimi with the Sun. January certainly had us seeing new light around the direction our old values were taking us, and helped us open up to a new spiritual path. At the end of the month Venus trined Uranus for the 2nd time, helping us reconsider the values we have identified with in the past, and innovate them for the future. Venus went direct at the end of January and was joined by Mars in Capricorn in the middle of February for the rest of her time in the sign, and into Aquarius. Our ego joining his counterpart, Venus, in the cardinal earth sign of Capricorn suggests the initiation of long term manifestations that will eventually become our legacy. This theme of new beginnings was reiterated in early March, as the pair made a trine to the North Node in Taurus. Once in Aquarius they began to part ways as Venus sped up. Mid March she squared Uranus in Taurus, highlighting last year’s notable Saturn/Uranus square-which was in a sense, all about changing and innovating our values for the future. Venus finished out March with her conjunction to Saturn, helping us bring a sense of reality and discipline to our options for future plans and achievements that we have been opening up to. This was followed by a square to the North Node, helping us turn a corner away from past ways of belonging, and move towards the new. In early April, Venus in Aquarius trined Black Moon Lilith in Gemini at 28° and you may have seen your first round of old fears popping up around your new plans for manifestation. The start of April gave us strong tests on holding our new creation vibration, which was necessary before we dove into mutable Pisces, where a strong stellium with Jupiter and Neptune was beginning to form. Venus entered Pisces on April 5 and was quiet as we explored new options for faith in ourselves, now that we have established new personal values, new goals for the future and the new tone we have to hold to get there. She made sextiles to Mercury and Uranus conjunct in Taurus mid-April, helping to give mental support around opening up to new innovative ways of creating. Later in the month she sextiled the North Node in Taurus, while making her conjunction to Neptune in Pisces, this brought in strong spiritual support for the new direction you are starting to accept. This was followed shortly after by her conjunction to Jupiter in Pisces during the Solar Eclipse in Taurus that happened April 30. This powerful conjunction was also being sextiled by Pluto (retro) in Capricorn, signifying the transformational power behind expanding your beliefs around greater actions to take on your new path. This empowering energy encouraged us to aim higher than we have in the past. Venus moved into Aries May 2nd, helping to spark our desires in the new directions we aim to go in. She made a square to Black Moon Lilith who had just recently moved into Cancer, while making a sextile to a slowing down Mercury in Gemini at 3°. Right as we began to open up to a new way of believing in ourselves and the actions we take, we may have started to have old ways of believing creep back in. Black Moon Lilith reminds us of where we still need to heal and move on from past fears and traumas, and can feel like a test to see if we are ready to move on. May 15th, Venus made her conjunction with Chiron, who has been in Aries since 2018, and has been progressively healing the old wounded ways of seeing ourselves on the inside, and healing how we respond to ourselves on the outside. This conjunction was followed the next day by the powerful Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio we had on May 16, and set the tone for the next couple of years for expansion and growth towards the new spiritually aligned life we are starting to create. Venus made a sextile to Saturn and a square to Pluto towards the end of the month before making her way into Taurus, and helped us open up to the realities and consequences of our new path, and what old ways of thinking of ourselves and the outerworld must go. Now that Venus is in Taurus she will be making her conjunction with Uranus and the North Node in the next couple of weeks and we will begin to open up to those outerworld changes and edits that must be physically done now. With Mars and Jupiter in Aries, and Mercury getting ready to turn direct, June looks to be a fast paced month with a lot of activity to help finally get your new story off the ground!
